Gameloft has been successfully bringing Marvel’s superhero movies to the mobile gaming scene. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man and Despicable Me: Minion Rush are just some of the few games that come to mind. The mobile gaming giant announced yesterday that they are teaming up with Marvel again to develop a new superhero game called Spider-Man Unlimited, which takes inspiration from Spider-Man comics that has entertained fans over the last 50 years.
The game will be a web runner, which means there will be a lot of swinging, running, as well as fighting elements. The action is set in New York city which is on the verge of being completely destroyed by The Formidable Sinister Six. These baddies are hoping to gain unlimited powers by opening a dimensional rift to our world.
Peter Parker, and 23 different Spider-man avatars such as Iron Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir, Future Foundation Spider-Man and Ben Reilly Spider-Manto will join forces to stop Green Goblin, Vulture, Electro, and their counterparts in their tracks.
The game will be played out in episodes which are narrative-driven and players are told to expect a “faithful recreation of the Spider-Man comics through an incredible narrative runner experience”.
Spider-Man Unlimited will be available in the Windows Phone Store this September. Meanwhile, you can get a sneak peek of the game in the E3 event in Los Angeles next week.
