Microsoft has just announced that it will be launching a Zoo SIM game based on the popular “Zoo Tycoon” series for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1 devices. The game, called Zoo Tycoon Friends will be a casual building SIM where players will tend to hungry zoo animals, adopt cute cubs, build animal habitats and tend and care for the inhabitants.
Players will join Arthur and his daughter Simone as they travel around the world, taking on missions and quests to save exotic animals. There are over 40 different animal species, 15 missions and over a 100 quests to engage in. Apart from caring for the animals, players will also have to keep visitors to the zoo happy by setting up concession stands and employing other entertainment activities for them.
Microsoft stated that game progression will be synced across both the phone and the Windows 8 platform so that players can pick up from where they left off on any Windows device of their choice. Players can also unlock Xbox achievements and compare scores on leaderboards with other players. On a side note, players who have played Zoo Tycoon on their Xbox One or Xbox 360 console can pick up a free Zoo Tycoon Friends gift when they log in with their Xbox Live account.
Zoo Tycoon Friends will become available sometime later this summer and will be free to play with IAP support. Keep watching this space for more news and updates on the game in the coming days.
